Misty Sea, 33 foot Wellcraft Sportfisher

The “Misty Sea” is a 33foot Wellcraft Sportfisher. The inside was completely gutted. The cockpit window framework was pitted and corroded. Poor maintenance resulted in damage to the bowsprit and trim tabs. Other miscellaneous issues were addressed. Prior to any refurbishment, an extreme cleaning took place. The prior liveaboards liked beer and cigarettes.

Custom ceiling panels were fabricated to create a smooth padded vinyl covered overhead, all of which are easily removed for access to wiring and lights. All new hull liner, again using padded vinyl was installed. Cosmetically appealing welt and dual colors enhance the cabin space.

New trim, teak, plastic and aluminum, was installed around the table, counter, hatch and fridge. All new upholstery and cushions were custom fit and where necessary secured with velcro. New carpet and carpet liner was installed with snaps. All windows were recaulked. The head sill and lower bulkhead had substantial repair to fix rot. Some new wiring took place, new bilge pumps. Most guages were replaced.

All cockpit cushions were replaces and the helm seat redone. All aluminum trim was treated, then painted. All hardware around the bow sprit was either replaced or refinished, new multicolored boot stripe was installed after buffing the hull, replacing the zincs and trim tabs. New bottom paint followed.

We hired a subcontractor to do some major rewiring and to install a new diesel genset.

The end result is a beautiful vessel better than new.
